Loyal Customers is the key to having a successful airbrush business

Keep your loyal customers happy because they
are your future profits. Give them discounts and
free gifts as often as possible. If you are thoughtful
and loyal to your customers, most of them will be
your customers forever. They will make up about
80% of your business and profits.

10 Important Things To Tell Your Prospective Airbrush Customers

1. Tell your prospects that you offer free delivery.
This may cost a little money, but, you will gain the
extra customers to make up for it.

2. Tell your prospects that you offer a lower price.
If you can't afford to offer a lower price you could
always hold the occasional discount sale.

3. Tell your prospects that your product achieves
results faster. People are becoming more and more
impatient and want results fast.

4. Tell your prospects you've been in business for
a longer period of time. People think if you've been
in business longer you have more credibility.

5. Tell your prospects that your product tastes,
smells sounds, looks, or feels better. When you
target the senses you're triggering human appeal.

6. Tell your prospects your product is compact or
light. People may want to take the product on a trip
or don't have much room where they live.

7. Tell your prospects that your product lasts longer.
People don't like to spend more money purchasing
replacement products all the time.

8. Tell your prospects that your product is easy to
use. People don't want to buy a product that they
have to read a 100 page instruction manual.

9. Tell your prospects that your product has better
safety features. People want to feel safe when they
use your products.

10. Tell your prospects that you stand behind all
your products. People want to know that you back-
up any claims you make about your product.

want to find bargains. They could be rebates, one
time sales, percentage offers, get-one-free offers,
etc. For example, you could say, "Get a 50%
rebate if you order before (date)!" Another example
would be, "Order before our buy-one-get-one-
free sale ends!"

Sell the sizzle...airbrush marketing tip.

Most people want to invest in their future. Tell
your prospects to "invest in your product" instead
of "buy our product". For example, you could say
"It will be the smartest investment you've ever
made!" Another example, "This will be your most
profitable investment of 2005!"

Airbrush Marketing info - Business names

So you have want to start selling your airbrush products. The first thing you need is a business name. But, is a business name really that important?

And the long answer to this is YES!

Think of your business name as an external mask for your business. If it’s something your target audience like, they would consider checking it, if they don’t, in most cases you have lost a customer even before you could tell them about your airbrush product or service. Your marketing campaign is usually like a beautiful outer covering for your business which attempts to portray it as the best business on earth for various reasons and the quality of your business name can have a great positive or negative impact on your marketing campaign.

Many marketing campaigns are solely based on business names. Despite this many people, completely ignore spending time picking a good business name. This very often happens, when someone believes to have a winning business idea, and wants to kick it off as soon as possible.

Airbrush Inspiration

Airbrush Airbrushing website: "My Life In Airbrushing
by Dainon Woudstra
I remember this Christmas when I was little. My mother and father took all the money my grandparents sent my sister and me and spent it on lousy paint supplies. We got an easel, water based paints, brushes, construction paper, and watercolors and well, it's been a long time. I wanted a Nintendo. Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed."

Ever felt like giving up and throwing away your airbrush because it all became to hard? Well, when you sometimes smell the roses, you see that others have it tougher than you.

Never give up. Keep on airbrushing.

Working on Commission - The Airbrush Way

Working on Commission: "Assure Positive Outcomes When Working on Commission
Collectors often ask artists to produce art on commission. In the great majority of cases, everyone's satisfied with the finished product-- but not always. Problems can arise and when they do, knowing how to address them can prevent major headaches.

The best way to avoid potentially difficult commissions is to spot them in advance and not get involved in the first place. Not every collector is easy to work with; not every artist is compatible with every collector. By paying attention to certain warning signs, you can weed out those who aren't right for you."

-----

I would like to add to this that most times, you can easily work out who is going to be a pain in the BEHIND. Yes it that GUT feeling you will have. More often than not, go with the feeling. Airbrushing will be less enjoyable if you have someone in your face, saying that what you painted is not what they asked for. To be honest with you, these type of customers will never be satisifed. It is best to say I can't do the work, than take them on as a customer.

Increase Art Sales; Sell More Art

Increase Art Sales; Sell More Art: "INNOVATIVE WAYS TO INCREASE ART SALES

Any artist will tell you that one of the most difficult challenges they have to face is making a living. The conventional way to attain financial happiness is through long term gallery representations, but many artists don't have that and of those who do, few have it on a consistent basis. Artists are innovative people, though, and have come up with a variety of methods to bulk up their bottom lines. "

Here are some great ways to increase art sales. Although they are general, and not specifically realted to airbrushing, it can give you some ideas as to what to do.

I'm not sure about holding a fundraiser for yourself, but the other ideas are wonderful. Have a read, and tell me what you think.

Profit from High Schools, Colleges and Universities

Copyright 2005 Roger Vail

Schools and the like are one way you can make money from airbrushing. Why they are a good market is that there are plenty of students to begin with. Therefore, you are starting with a big customer base. Generally, look for any large groups when you want to make money from airbrushing. The cost of advertising will be low, and you will get to concentrate all your energies on one group.

You could arrange to sell your products and services at different school events. You could set up a booth at the school fair, paint at concerts, sell at dances, or any other big event or day they may have. Sell face painting, t-shirts, temporary tattoos, anything really.

One particularly good event that you can sell your product or service is graduation day. Call the organising committee and see if they would like a particular product airbrushed for the Graduating Class. One product that would be a good money earner, that students would love to get their hands on are "Class of 2005" t-shirts. Paint something that will remind them of the school or the year that past. Ask the organisers what they would like to see on them, and give them a few FREE SAMPLES to model for you around the school. You never know, a school with 200 graduates could be a good weekends work, not to mention the extra money you could make.

Talk to the committee and see if you are able to set up a work area at their end of year function. That special night, could also be a special night for you. Most times, students love to remember the night. You could be the right person to give them what they want!

Airbrush Information

A simple way to get your airbrush products noticed

Hi Guys and Girls,

It has been a little while since I have given some airbrush marketing tips. Forgive me.

Anyway, I was in Bangkok recently for a holiday and being me, I like to watch. I love looking at small stall holders. Yeah, I know you can see things that you shouldn't, but these guys mean business. If any of you have been to Bangkok, you will know that these guys are what you need in business...HUNGER! Yes..they are EAGER for the sale. Sometimes no sales means no eat. Now that would motivate everyone!! But I digress.

While watching a small stall holder, I was wondering how, on a street of 20 stalls, he attracted buyers like Brad Pitt attract chicks! It was incredible. People were literally throwing him money. I have never seen such mayhem. It could of been classified a stampede. Again I digress.

I got the chance to ask him, how he created all this attention. That was after I too bought one of his items. His answer? "Buzz". "Buzz"?? And I finally realised. Yes, he got people into a frenzy well before they went to his stall. He created such a presale "buzz", that everyone had to have his product (and his product was a small, handmade wooden elephant! Yes the same as other stall holders)

So my question to you. What are you doing to create a "BUZZ" in your airbrush business? Could it be free giveaways? Or a limited edition airbrush item that will not be repeated? How about offering something crazy.

Tip : A FREE way of creating "BUZZ" on the net is to place classified ads. I can't believe it, but Yahoo lets you do this. It only takes seconds to place a free ad on Yahoo, and because of its obvious recognition, your chance of getting your ad seen is quite high. I still can't believe such a big company like Yahoo allows you to place an ad for free. Nevermind..lets not complain.

Go to Yahoo Classifieds and start creating a "BUZZ".

How To Make Money From Airbrushing

Tip : Brainstorm Session: Who Needs Your Product or Service?

Brainstorm in your journal about who needs your product or services. If you don't have any experience in the business you want to launch, give free products and services to a few of these people. For example, my friend, Kelly, loved creating silk flowers and wanted to make it a business. When I was planning my wedding on a shoestring budget, she offered to create my flowers for the cost of materials. She also asked if I would give her one of my wedding pictures so she could start a portfolio of her work. I gladly provided a copy to her. Another reason it is a good idea to give away a product or service is to get feedback from your customers. Follow-up with a phone call, e-mail or reply card. When you get praise for your product or service, write the comments in your journal so that you will remember them and be encouraged. Also, add the testimonial to your web site or marketing materials (with permission, of course). Testimonials are great incentives for others to buy your product or service.

Journaling is the best route on your journey to your goal. Essentially, you are writing your own book about how to start a home-based business. Journaling is not just about planning. It's also about recording the small successes along the way. It's easy to forget time you've invested in a goal and progress you've made.

Web tip 1 : Build your site around important keywords

When building the content part of your site, remember to include a
fair dose of important keywords and phrases that best describe
your business. These keywords, the words and phrases people
use when searching for relevant information on the internet, should
also be extended to all the important tags of every web page of
your site. Be careful though not to overdo it, as search engines
penalize "keyword stuffing". Also use full sentences and make
them sound natural. The clever search engine algorithms have
recently just become even more advanced, and can now track
unnaturally sounding sentences !

Tip #1: Write About Your Big Airbrush Venture

The first step to save the business venture you have splashing around your head is to throw it a life preserver. What type of business do you want to start? Write your big idea in permanent ink. Write about the advantages to this type of business, as well as the disadvantages. Write about the characteristics you possess that make you the perfect person to operate this type of business, and the characteristics you need to strengthen. For example, if you want to teach airbrush to students, but you never taught before, volunteer to teach friends.

Once you have it written down on paper, it will make more sense to you. You will have more focus and your business idea will be clearer. For more marketing information for airbrush, visit How to make money with your airbrush. Airbrushing, airbrush, airbrush shirt, airbrush tanning.

2 Words to tell the Argumentative Buyer - Get *4*%(^!

If you find that a potential customer is still particularly argumentative about paying you the price you asked, “politely” recommend that they look elsewhere for assistance. People who ask for “the rock bottom price” are often the most difficult to please, and they will work you till your hands bleed making everything just so. And when you are finished, they still won’t be happy with your product or service! You don’t need customers like this, even if you are new to the business. To be honest, you do not need customers like this FULL STOP! So, if you get any bad feelings about a customer, pass on him/her and let that client be someone else’s headache.

Don't waste your time and energy on these customers. After a while, you will be able to sniff them out like a bad smell.

Airbrush your way to profits today

Is your airbrush business collecting testimonials? Whether you do airbrush tanning, airbrush shirts or even tattooing, get satified customers to leave a letter of recommendation. It is easy to do.

What are testimonials?
Testimonials are comments that satisfied customers have written about you and your work. Once you have customers singing your praises, new ones will come to you with much more trust. They will trust your work, and they will trust you. At this point, then you can begin to charge what you’re really worth.

How do I get testimonials?
The best way of getting testimonials is by asking customers for them. Ask them to write what they thought of doing business with you. If you do not have customers, give Free products away and ask for feedback. Make sure you get them to write it down on paper, so you can keep it for new customers to read.

Testimonials are important to your airbrush business. Show potential customers today what others have said about your shirts, helmets, tattoos, art, tanning or services that you airbrush.

Need to spruce up your retail business?

Retail Business Makeover
By PAULETTE THOMAS
THE WALL STREET JOURNAL
May 3, 2005;
Page B4

THE PROBLEM: How to freshen up an old-fashioned retail business, while keeping its essence.

Trevor Furbay was in Cincinnati, the hometown of his bride-to-be, as they prepared for their New Year's Eve wedding in 1998. He was fitted for his tuxedo in the shop of Romualdo Pelle, who immigrated to the U.S. from Formia, Italy, in 1960, and started his shop in 1967. They were decades apart but had much in common -- Mr. Furbay, who lived in Baltimore, worked in sales for Haas Tailoring Co., which produces made-to-order clothing. "Romualdo sat me down, and said, 'I'm looking for someone to buy my business,' " recalls Mr. Furbay, now 31. " 'I think you are the one.' "

"Gosh, I'm getting married tomorrow," replied Mr. Furbay. "Can I get back to you?" But Mr. Furbay and his wife, Wendy, loved the idea. They borrowed money from family, hired a lawyer, and agreed to keep Mr. Pelle on as a floor salesman, and closed the deal in April 1999. Revenue was under $300,000.

So he had a shop called Romualdo full of high-end clothes, a few tailors and a salesman. Now what?

THE SOLUTION: For the first year, Mr. Furbay worked energetically alongside Mr. Pelle, making no changes. "I just wanted customers to think that Romualdo had great salesmen," he says.

But he wanted to enhance its old-fashioned tailor ambiance, which increasingly set the store apart from other men's retailers. "It felt very '80s in here," says Mr. Furbay. He replaced the red carpet and blue fixtures with hardwood floors and antiques, imbuing it with a manly, old-world feel, he believed. "If we could smoke cigars in here without ruining the fabrics, we would," he says.
While the store's focus remained on custom tailoring, he bowed to "business casual" by stocking Bill's Khakis, which brought in younger customers. "You can't believe the amount of khaki pants we sell," he says. "At least a thousand a year."
He began advertising women's alterations -- previously an afterthought at best. His wife, who formerly had her own marketing business, took space in one of the upstairs apartments, and stocked it with the distaff version of what was a floor below -- stylish, upscale women's suits. They called it Kennedy's, named after their daughter, now 5 years old. Today women's tailoring is 25% of his business.
Most importantly, he quit stocking men's suits and focused on buying the best fabrics to tailor them to order. He has no cash tied up in an inventory to maintain and sell. "That's been a huge cost savings," he says.

Sales today are closing in on $2 million. He keeps six tailors and a full-time presser busy, along with a half-dozen salespeople. As for Mr. Pelle, he's still working the sales floor. "It could not be any better," he says in his thick Italian accent. "He's like a son to me," he says of his young employer.

THE LESSON: In order to realign an established brand, take your time, and take the measure of your customers.

Are negative people getting you down?

One of the most effective ways to deal with negativity is to avoid it altogether. If we constantly surround ourselves with people who criticize our plans, then it's very easy to get discouraged. Next, do plenty of research to find out every possible challenge you might face along the way. Remember, we don't want to fall prey to negativity, but we must also be very realistic in determining the obstacles we might face along the way. If we desire to start a business, we need to do market research to find out. Anyway, here are a couple of quotes to keep you going.

"It's a cutthroat business and you've got no chance of success." Accountant for Estee Lauder, founder of the cosmetic s empire.

"You can't play the piano, and God knows you can't sing. You'd better learn to weave chairs so you can support yourself." - Advice given to Ray Charles by one of his teachers.if there is a need for our product or service

Start teaching Airbrushing!

You can generate business yourself by being visible to people who may be interested in your services. One-way is to come across as being an authority or expert on airbrushing. For example, if you are confident that you are a good teacher, try volunteering your time to teach airbrushing classes at a local craft store or community center. You do not have to be an expert to teach a class; you just need to know some of the techniques that you can paint with. In this role, you will be seen as the expert. And chances are, you will have people in your classes that do not take well to airbrushing (they may not have the patience or creativity for it!). If that’s the case, you may be asked to do some work for someone. This is exactly how many professional artists get their start.

Airbrush Business names tip

Spend plenty of time coming up with a name that sells your service. If possible, try to use a name that begins with a letter towards the beginning of the alphabet. This will assure you of a more prominent position on any lists your company ends up on, i.e., Internet business directories, phone directories, or industry specific lists. You will find lots of businesses that use A, AA or even AAA as the beginning of their name to insure positioning themselves at the head of any list they appear in. Just don't loose site of the objective of the name to clearly define your business. See www.makemoneyairbrushing.com for more ideas and tips.

Airbrush tip - The sweetest sound that a customer loves to hear

Pay attention to names when you meet people. It is all too common to be thinking about what you are going to say next and not focus on the other person. If you concentrate and repeat the name as soon as you hear it, you stand a better chance of remembering it later. As they say, the sweetest sound to a persons ear, is his/her own name. Start using their name, take a little time to create relationships, and you will see that increasing sales gets a little easier.

10 steps to promote your small business - by Jo Hill

Ten steps to promote your small businessAre you a small business or start up? Do you sometimes feel invisible? Here are ten low cost marketing ideas guaranteed to boost your profile.

1) Word of mouth is the most cost-effective, powerful form of promotion. Write a list of 50 people you know but don’t see regularly – relatives, friends, ex-colleagues etc. Send each of them a friendly email or postcard to let them know what you’re up to. Ask them for feedback, advice or contacts of anyone who might be interested in hearing about your business. Don’t be shy! People love to help. For practical tips on promoting your small business visit Guerrilla Marketing

2) Networking may seem intimidating but there are ways to make it less scary. Don’t feel you have to sell, sell, sell - the number one rule of networking is to listen. It’s about building relationships - go to a networking event looking for opportunities to help others. Ask questions, gather information, offer contacts and advice – people will remember you for it. Networking PLUS is Business Link’s popular monthly speed-networking event – for details visit the events section on the Business Link website.

3) Business cards need to stand out from the crowd. Get a new batch printed on unusual material – textured card, plastic, wood – or make it an unusual shape. Offer a business tip or special offer on the back. Include your photo on the card – this makes it more personal, easier to remember you and harder to throw away! For excellent free tips on killer business cards see Card Sharks on the Lean Marketing website.

4) The internet is an amazing market place to promote your business – but it’s easy to feel lost or insignificant. Join specialist forums and exchange links with complimentary websites. To reach a targeted audience, join Affinity Trading Network – an active online network for small businesses. You get a full web profile about you and your business, and access to the Trading Boards, providing an effective way to increase your online exposure.

5) Newsletters are a great way to build up a following, sign up potential customers and provide people with a regular reminder about your services. Write a simple one page resource of news, advice and latest offers each month. Run a competition or poll. Promote your customers or suppliers. Use it to build your reputation as a useful hub of up-to-date information. Encourage feedback, keep it enjoyable and personal. To help you build a mailing list, create a newsletter and measure results, look at Mailing Manager

6) Testimonials support your credibility. It’s good practice to ask clients for regular feedback either verbally or in a quick customer satisfaction survey. When you have a happy customer – ask whether you could get a quote from them. Be clear as to how you will use the testimonial – on your website, in your newsletter or letterhead etc. Make sure you accredit the quote explicitly with the name of the client – anonymous testimonials don’t hold much punch. After all, testimonials can also give your clients good publicity.

7) Cold calling can send shivers down your spine! However, it is a highly targeted way to promote your business. Don’t expect to close a deal over the phone – again this is about finding out information as much as selling. Use phone calls as the first step to getting to know your prospective clients better. Don’t make a full pitch but arrange an appointment or ask permission to send on further materials about your business. And remember to speak s-l-o-w-l-y! For a Cold Calling Crash course to get you over your fears and anxieties, take a look at Do Your Own PR.

8) Referrals are a valuable and inexpensive way to find new clients. It’s not about being pushy, it’s about building long term business relationships based on trust. Start by asking each of your clients or suppliers for three contacts of other people who might like to find out more about your business. You could offer to reciprocate and provide three useful contacts in return. Make it a regular habit to give referrals as well as ask for them. For an effective referral marketing system, visit 1quickreferral

9) Press releases must be targeted. There is little point sending round a generic press release to hundreds of newspapers. Start by focusing on five publications ideal for your target market. Read back editions thoroughly – understand what kind of stories they like to publish and the style of language they use. Find a relevant news hook and tailor your press release specifically for each publication. The first paragraph is key and must provide the who, what, where, when and why of your story. For excellent tips on writing press releases visit Bizhelp24 .

10) Patience and persistence are the most important tools to promote your small businesses! If you try each of the strategies above and build them into a regular marketing plan, you will certainly boost your profile, without a doubt!

Yes, You Really Do Need A Marketing Plan - by Leslie Guria

So you’ve gotten your business going. You have a customer or two. The phone is ringing…a little. For any business to grow and prosper long-term, it needs a solid foundation that includes a marketing plan.

A marketing plan is a road map detailing the “route” you’ll take to get your business noticed by potential clients. By following a properly crafted plan, you’ll know what to do and why you’re doing it, while avoiding some of the mistakes that can cost you money and future growth.

“If You Build It, They Won’t Necessarily Come”

The first part of any marketing plan is a basic understanding of your market, competition and whether or not an opportunity exists for your product or service.

My first business venture was to make very expensive looking floral wreathes. All my friends and neighbors had them on their front doors and I knew I paid $100 for mine, so why not make and sell them myself! What I didn’t consider is that I have expensive taste and in order to make a profit, my wreaths were priced significantly higher than the local craft store. If I were in a more affluent area, it may have worked, but not here.

I started the business on a hunch and didn’t truly know my market or competition. Had I done my research, I may have used lower cost materials, made less elaborate products, sold them in a different area or skipped the venture all together. What I learned is that my opinion combined with my friend’s opinions is not a strong enough basis to launch a business.

“No, I’m Not Going to Stop for Directions.”

When starting a business you generally know where you want to end up and you might have a vague idea of how to get there, but what if you get lost? A marketing plan is like a road map or corner gas station used as a reference tool to keep your marketing on track. If you run into “construction traffic”, a properly developed plan will offer options to keep you motivated, organized and headed in the right direction.

“I Want to Rule the World… Or Do I?”

Do you want a home based business with one or maybe two employees or a large firm with several hundred? How do you feel about travel, making cold calls, the Internet, can you type? How fast do you want to grow and do you have the resources to keep up with the growth? Your goals as a business entity will dictate how and to whom you market.

My second business venture was a used toy business. I hit every garage sale within 10 miles of my home and bought all of the solid plastic toys I could find. I also put up signs at day care centers offering to buy used toys directly from parents. My goal was to have my own garage sales business and earn a profit on the toys I had bought.

This time, I didn’t consider my personal goals before embarking on my business. I didn’t like going inside strangers homes to pick up their toys. I had nowhere to put the enormous stockpile I had amassed and wasn’t willing to hire employees to gather enough toys to generate the revenue to cover a storage unit or store front. I wanted a little “mom” business, not a full blown corporation.

Had I considered my true goals, I would have marketed myself as a service provider to day care centers – found out what they wanted and would be willing to pay, and then gone out to find it - no storage issues, no going into people’s homes, no employees required.

“It’s Report Card Day!”

Even the best marketing plan needs to be constantly evaluated and adjusted to keep business growth on track. The results of your efforts may not be bringing in attention or revenue you require. The economy, business environment, competition or technology may have changed necessitating a shift in your plan.

Making adjustments to a marketing plan is healthy. Even if you paid a mint for a professionally developed plan, you’ll want to review your status and results at least every six months to monitor effectiveness. When buying a plan, it’s important to ask that follow up support to be part of the package.

“I’ll Just Put It On My Credit Card.”

Before developing a marketing plan, you’ll want to have a ball park budget in mind. Once your plan is complete, set a budget and stick to it!

It’s easy to spend more than your annual revenue on marketing activities and supplies when you first start out. Make sure your budget is realistic before committing. Every dollar spent should have a trackable outcome – even if it takes several months or years to realize.

“Plan Your Day and Work Your Plan’

By following a properly developed marketing plan, you’ll minimize the growing pains that often accompany a business start up. Revenue growth will be reasonably predictable and you’ll be laying a foundation for long term stability. Your business will run more efficiently because next marketing steps will have been laid out in advance.

Is your business card making you money?

Is your business card telling prosctive customers how easy it is to do business with you? For example, your card can tell people how easy you are to do business with by adding a slogan or tagline such as:
Easy to PAY - "Credit cards and competitor's coupons accepted"
Easy to FIND - "Located next to ___ in the heart of ___"
Easy to BUY - "Walk-ins welcome. No appointment required."
Easy to BUY - "Express check-in and check-out."
Easy to get EXPERT ADVICE - "Artist on duty 24/7."
Better yet, your business card can be a marketing tool that asks for business. Asking people via your business card to visit your store or log onto your website is a great idea. But in order for this strategy to be effective, you need to be specific, and you need to give people a reason to do what you request. And that my friend is where your USP comes into play. Plaster your USP on every marketing weapon you have. From business cards to websites, to banners, to giveaways. USP.USP.USP. Do you have a USP?

There is no excuse why you cannot make money airbrushing!

I was looking around the web for some motivational stories when I can across this one. Jay Rachuk, is a 30 year old airbrush artist who failed art at high school. Who would give up airbrushing after that? He decided to open his own business with a friend, but couldn't get a loan from a bank to start a business. Who would have given up their dream after that? He and a friend had to work jobs to save up the $22,000 to open up shop. There business plan was written on a cocktail napkin!

So what is the secret of their success? Read and you will find out. Passion, desire and desperation to succed are important factors. As they say, "where deserts end, green grass grows". Don't give up, you may be very close to your patch of "green grass.
They'll paint anything

Airbrush Tip : Be Professional from the start!

Everything about you and the way you do business needs to let people know that you are a professional running a serious business. That means getting things such as professional business cards, an email address, phone number and treating people in a professional, courteous manner.

Start today so people know they are dealing with someone serious.

Airbrush Supplies : Buy in Bulk

Buying supplies in bulk can save you money, especially when you want to start your business. When shopping, compare prices with other suppliers. Ask each vendor if quantity discounts apply and if so, what the percentages off will be. Sometimes you might get 5% or even as high as 25%. Just remember, if you don't ask, you will never know if you will get a discount or not.

Do you absolutely love airbrushing?

Don't get started in airbrushing simply to make money. I know that may sound strange since the goal of any business is to make money, but starting and running a business takes time and dedication to succeed. Almost definitely, there will be lean times and if you do not absolutely love what you do you will not have the stamina needed to follow through. Make sure when you take the plunge, airbrushing is not the "flavor of the month" hobby. If it something you are passionate about, then making money from it will be easier to do.

A Creative Way to get Free Advertising 2

TownOnline.com - Woburn Advocate - Arts & Lifestyle

A Creative Way to get FREE Advertising

Many people think that you have to spend thousands of dollars on advertisements to get heaps of business. Not so. If you are creative you can get it for free in major newspapers and commercial tv!

A good example of this is Kevin Byrnes from Fischer Body Refinishing. For the cost of labour and materials, Fischer Body Refinishing has got terrific advertisements in the Detroit News. His work has also created wonderful good will, lots of word of mouth advertising, and even more advertising when they received a plaque for their good deed. People are talking about him, and Im sure he has plenty of customers who ask him to do work, but has to turn them away. See the story at http://www.detnews.com/2005/oakland/0503/31/B04-134588.htm

I'm not saying that you have to go out and do what Byrnes did. What I am trying to get at is this. Advertising does not have to be paid for. Secondly, advertising does not only come in the form of print! Like Byrnes, it can come in the form of word of mouth advertising.

Doing a good deed may be one way you can get free advertising and have customers throw their money at you. What other ways do you think you can get free advertising? Be creative when you ask yourself this question. Apply it and take action. Soon you will have customers lining up at your door, just like Byrnes has.

Are you keeping in touch with your customers?

Here are some ideas for staying in touch:
1. Sponsor some kind of information-based event. A workshop, seminar, luncheon with a guest speaker, etc. Anything that would be of interest to your customers and prospects.
2. Send a postcard announcing a "private sale" with special discounts or added services exclusively for your customers.
3. If you work with businesses, send them information that will help them become more successful along with a personal note... "I thought you might benefit from this."
4. Send a postcard with problem-solving tips on it for easy, quick reference.

By collecting the names, addresses, and phone numbers of your customers and prospects, you will be in a position to increase the profits earned from each customer anywhere from 35 - 200%.

Do you know which direction you are headed?

Did you know that 90% of businesses are flying by the seat of their pants, with no direction for tomorrow, no idea how much they're going to make in the next 365 days, and no written plan whatsoever.

“Your business will never succeed on a large scale basis unless you commit to writing a plan that guides you to success.”

If you're without a plan right now, grab a piece of paper and a pencil and lets get started. Your plan must include the following:
1) A specific, clear, precise dollar objective for each year for each of your products or services.
2) A specific dollar amount for each month for each of your products or services.
3) An objective evaluation of all of the different marketing alternatives that will help you reach your monthly and yearly goals.
4) An exact indication of which marketing alternatives you have decided to use, in what ways, and how often, and how much these alternatives will cost you in money, time and materials.
5) Techniques to use that will help you keep track of your customers and prospects.
6) Techniques to use to help you sell the "back-end" to a new customer.

These questions are here to provide you with a starting point. So come on and get something in writing. You will never know how to get there, if you are not sure where you are going.

Marketing is vital to making money from Airbrushing

Have you ever wondered how a very average airbrush artist (if not, a really bad one) sells his/her product to customers like hotcakes? Have you ever thought, “Who would want to buy his/her work? Even being the best airbrush artist in your area is not a good enough reason why you will make money.

So what is it then? What is the secret to making money from Airbrushing? The secret to making money is this;

REMEMBER THAT YOU NEED TO BE A MARKETER WHO, JUST SO HAPPENS, TO BE AN AIRBRUSH ARTIST!

If you remember this, and work at improving your business skills, then making money is going to be easier for.

Keep coming back here to get information on how you can use simpe marketing strategies to make money with Airbrushing.

Airbrush Money Tip : Focus on your customers

Did you know that one of the main reasons airbrush artists don't succeed is because they do not focus on their customers needs and wants. Does this seem too obvious? Look through the telephone directory. Pick them up right now and glance through them. Answer this question: Are most of the ads telling you what benefits you get, if you become a customer? Or are the ads telling you about the businesses, where they are, how wonderful they are, what they do, how great their quality is, how great their service is, and all about them? 95% of the ads are totally focused on the business and not on what the business can do for YOU, the potential customer!

When marketing and selling, always focus on the needs and wants of the customers. If you are not doing that, make sure you start today.

Who Is Your Target Market - The Airbrush Artist

A target market is a group of people that you will spend your time and money on to sell your product and service to. For instance, your target market might be adults who love to wear outrageous and fanciful t-shirts. Or it could be college students who love to be different from the rest. Another could be children who love to dress up and have their face painted. All these are different target markets.

What is your target market?
You need to work out what market you want to target. You also need to know everything there is to know about your potential customer. How old are they, what are their interests, how much income do they earn, what do they like, where do they live, what do they watch, what hobbies do they have? You also need to look at what location they are in. Are they close to you or will I go to them? These are important questions that you can ask yourself. By working out your target market, you will find that it will be easier to sell to them and therefore, make money.

Keep a mailing list of customers

Keep a mailing list of your customersThe most important part of being in business is to keep a mailing of your customers. A customer database is a list of customers that are at your fingertips that you can sell your product to. It is always important to keep adding to this.

The more customers in your database, the more successful your business is going to be.

Do you have what it takes to make money from Airbrushing?

Before you begin, you need to see if making money from Airbrushing is right for you. For some people it is, while for others it is not. To find out if it is for you, you have to ask yourself “Will I truly do everything I can to make money from Airbrushing?” Another question to ask is “Am I fit for making money from Airbrushing”?

To help you answer this, ask yourself;

How much do I enjoy Airbrushing?
Is it a little, or is it more than you could ever imagine? Are you extremely passionate about airbrushing? Do you dream about it?

If it is just another one of those hobbies that is the “flavor of the month”, STOP READING NOW! DO NOT INVEST THE TIME TO LEARN WAYS OF MAKING MONEY WITH AIRBRUSHING!!! The reason is that all you will do is waste your time, and more importantly, your hard earned money.

Quick Tip - Keep an eye out on sales at Hobby Stores

Watch for sales at hobby stores or going-out-of business discounts at local hobby shops. You can get some great stuff for cheap. Remember, a sale is only a good deal if you can use the materials. For instance, there is no need to stock up on pink paint if there is no demand for it by your customers.

I'm a beliver that if you don't ask, you don't learn.

How to get cheap, but effective advertising!

Cheap advertising can be yours, but you have to look for it. Sometimes you have to be creative. For example, a good way to get advertising is to sponsor a school or community service event. You can give them some designs, or for a small donation, the organization will provide you with a print ad that goes out in the publicity materials to all participants. This way, you might be able to get a print ad for $25-$50, which is a considerable deal when you consider what advertising rates in newspapers run. You may even be able to get a stall for that donation.

I find that it is easier to give away product and services, than to give away cash. For instance, it would be better to give away a "GIFT VOUCHER worth $100!!!". The reason is that, the cost to you in labor, materials, supplies ect. may only add up to $20-$30. This is far better than giving $100 in cash.

Do I Need Business Cards?

When you are starting out, you may or may not want them. I believe that if you want to make money money from airbrushing, you will need to have a professional appearence. Therefore, I would suggest you get some business cards made up. You can choose a design, or submit one of your own. Personally, I think having your own design displayed on a business card is going to make more impact on a potential customer. Don't you agree that having a "design" that you created on the background of a business card is going to make more impact? You will have customers attention.

So where to go to get them made up? Have a look for them on line. One place to get them made up is www.overnightprints.com You can get 100 business cards made up for $14.95 plus shipping. There is a 24 hour turnaround which is great if you need them fast. They give you the option of choosing from a design, or you can upload your own design.

Other online stores include http://www.4colorprint.com/

Another place for business cards is your local printers. Before you place orders, make sure you find out the minimum quantities you need to order, the price, how many colors are available in a design, can you submit your own design and the turnaround.

Remember, it's a personal taste whether to have a business card made up. If you want to make money, you have got to look professional. For a little outlay, you can put in the hand of your potential customer, one of your designs for him to look at, over and over again.

Other considerations may be to get postcards made up. Another way to get your customer looking at your designs everday is to get fridge magnets made up. The more you are in the customers mind, the more money you will be able to make over time.

Budget your time or see your hard earned profits disappear.

You must be disciplined with your time when you are taking the step to make money from airbrushing. If not, it could have a big effect on whether you are profitable or not. ALways budget how much time you have to complete a project. As deadlines are important in airbrushing, you may need to find ways of improving your time management skills. It could be as simple as taking action on a project today, or setting a date which you are to complete it by. How much you will make will depend on how happy the customer is. If the customers are getting their finished product on time (even a day or two earlier), the happier they are going to be. Don't let procrastination rule your life or your ability to make extra income.

What Has Boy Scouts Got To Do With Making Money?

Ah yes, Boy Scouts you must be wondering? If you have never joined Scouts, then the motto which was drilled into you was to "BE PREPARED" . You know, to make money, you need to be prepared. That could be the difference between making no money and that of alot. So to prepare you for making money from airbrushing, I have a few questions which you need to think about before you start selling your services and products. I hope these questions can help you "BE PREPARED".

Will I do everything it takes to make it successful?
I find that many airbrushers who want to make money, rely mostly on their "name" and "past work". They feel that their "skills" are enough to make them money. You can't be a poor airbrusher, but it take more than that to make money. Ever wondered how an average airbrusher can be incredibly successful? They know that is it more than just airbrushing.

You will need to do basic book work, be prepared to advertise your services and even market your products at trade shows. These are just some of the things you may need to do. Do not get intimidated if you have never done some of these tasks before; they are relatively easy to learn.

Do I have a problem asking for money?
If so, make sure you have someone who will be glad to call and collect on balances. Sometimes it's easier to have a friend, spouse or partner call up for payment. Another way you can get around this is to ask for at least 50 percent of the project's cost up front (if not the whole amount). Learn from those airbrushers who have learnt the hard way. What did they do? Well, they gave the finished product back without getting the balance paid in full. Once the customer has the finished product, it may be very hard to get them to pay you. Dont get scared though of this happening all the time. 99 percent of the people you deal with will be good, honest people. "BE PREPARED" for it!

One of the easiest tactics you can also do to ensure customer satisfaction is to treat them like a best friend. How to treat them like a best friend? By making sure every customer you deal with is made special. You want your friends to come back, why any different with a customer. Remember, a happy customer will keep coming back and spend their money with you.

Do I worry what other people think?
If you do, then making money from Airbrushing may not be for you. People will criticize you and assume you are just wasting your time. It's going to come from your aquaintances, maybe even your friends. Sometimes from your own spouse! Do not, however, let other people dissuade you from pursuing your passion; they may just be jealous that they cannot follow their dreams! You owe it to yourself to do what makes you happy, so don't let other people's comments get you down. It takes a great deal of courage to give it a go.

Welcome To Simple Ways To Market Airbrushing

Hi and thank you for taking the time to put down your airbrush, and to read my blog. I know that it's hard to do anything else but airbrush!!

At the moment, I am in the final stages of completing my ebook "How to Make Money with Airbrushing; Simple Strategies" and am interested in knowing if anyone has any questions they require answered in this book. If you do leave me a question, feel free to leave your email so I can send you a free copy of the book when completed. I hope to have it completed in the next couple of weeks.

I hope this book will teach you simple strategies to pay for all your paints and equipment you use or to even to help you take it further than that.

Anyway, please feel free to ask me anything. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
